More about the card
An angel stands barefoot on a stone in the middle of the water, pouring water from one cup into another. Temperance is about balance, gradual progress and the mixing of opposites in the right proportion. It appears when it is important not to fall into extremes: not to rush, not to overload yourself, to look for the golden mean. It is also a card of recovery after a hard period, when strength may return slowly but steadily.
Reversed position
Reversed Temperance speaks of imbalance, excess or haste. Something in your life is taking too much of your energy.
Symbolism of the card
An angel stands barefoot on a stone in the middle of the water, pouring water between two cups. Water and stone mean emotions and reality, and the pouring a search for balance. Mountains and a lake lie behind, and the sun shines above the angel’s head.
In love and relationships
Harmony, mutual compromise, a calm relationship. A good time for reconciliation.
At work and in finances
Combining different roles, teamwork. Move step by step.
Reversed in love
Imbalance, extremes or impatience in a relationship. There may be a wish for everything at once or, on the contrary, a pulling away. The card advises finding a shared rhythm and not pressuring each other.
