A 3-card spread

Tarot spread: stay in your job or leave?

Three cards for an honest talk with yourself: what keeps you in this job, what calls you onward and what will help you decide. The cards don’t say “quit” or “hang on”; they help you hear your own reasons.

What this spread is

The question “stay or go” is rarely about a single reason. People, a familiar rhythm and stability keep you at work, while tiredness, a wish to grow or an old dream call you onward. The first card shows what really keeps you where you are now. The second shows what calls you onward: a need, a value or a curiosity that your current job has no room for. The third suggests what will help you decide: what to ask yourself honestly, whom to talk to or what to try before you make a decision.

This spread doesn’t decide for you and doesn’t promise that things will be better in a new place. The two cards, “keeps” and “calls,” are read as equals: neither is more right. Make important decisions about work based on real circumstances: terms, agreements, your own strength. If your question is wider than one job, look at “Work and money,” and if you need to compare two concrete options, at “Two Paths.”

What each position means

  1. What keeps me here. What you value in your current job: people, stability, habit, meaning. Sometimes it is a fear of change, and the card will honestly show it.
  2. What calls me onward. A need your current job doesn’t meet: growth, freedom, rest, a different line of work. This is about your wish, not a forecast about the job market.
  3. What helps me decide. One concrete way to bring clarity: a question to yourself, a conversation, a small trial. Not a “yes” or “no” answer but the next step toward it.

Which questions it suits

What this spread won’t show

The spread doesn’t say whether to quit, doesn’t forecast a salary, a position, dates or your manager’s reaction and doesn’t replace advice from a lawyer or a career counselor. It isn’t about the thoughts of colleagues or bosses but about your reasons. If work drains you so much that you have no strength left, take care of rest first and talk to someone you trust or a professional.

A short example

Question: Should I stay at this job or look for a new one?

Putting it together: what keeps you at work is mostly a sense of reliability and a fear of losing the familiar, not the work itself. At the same time something inside is already looking for more: what once filled you now only tires you. The Page of Swords advises against acting rashly and suggests gathering facts first: talk to people who work where you feel pulled, find out the terms, try a small project. The decision stays with you, and the spread doesn’t promise that either path will be easier.

The example is made up: it shows how the positions are read, not what will “come up” for you.

How to read the spread

Who lays out the cards in the bot

In the bot, the spread is laid out by Iris, an artificial intelligence rather than a human tarot reader. We don’t hide it. She interprets exactly the cards that came up, in light of your question and the positions of this spread. It is entertainment and a reason to reflect, not a forecast or advice on health, money or legal matters.

Frequently asked questions

Will the spread tell me whether to quit?

No. Cards don’t make decisions for you. They help you see what keeps you, what calls you onward and what will help you decide, and you decide based on real circumstances.

How is it different from “Two Paths”?

“Two Paths” compares two concrete options with six cards. This spread is shorter and about one question: stay where you are or move on, even if “onward” has no name yet.

And how is it different from “Work and money”?

“Work and money,” with five cards, looks at your attitude to work and money in general. “Stay or go” is about a concrete decision regarding your current job.

Will the spread show whether I’ll find a better job?

No. Cards don’t forecast openings, salaries or dates. They are about your reasons and your next step.

How much does it cost?

75 crystals, and your first full spread in the bot is free. One crystal equals one Telegram Star.
