Suit: Wands
Eight of Wands: tarot card meaning
Fast news, movement and events moving quickly.
Yes or no: Yes
Upright position
Eight wands fly through the air. Events speed up: messages, trips, decisions. Time to act while the current is on your side.
More about the card
Eight wands fly through a clear sky over a plain, like arrows loosed in a single motion. There are no people on the card: speed itself is the point. The Eight of Wands is about the swift unfolding of events, news, messages, trips and decisions made on the move. Delays end, and everything suddenly gets going. The card suggests being ready to act fast, but not missing important details.
Reversed position
The reversed Eight suggests delays, haste with no result or a message that never arrived.
Symbolism of the card
Eight parallel wands, a river below and no figures at all. The absence of figures shows that events move on their own, and the flight of the wands stands for speed and precision.
In love and relationships
A fast-moving relationship, messages, a trip to see someone you love.
At work and in finances
Projects speeding up, urgent tasks, a business trip.
Reversed in love
Haste or, on the contrary, delay: messages with no reply, a relationship that is developing too fast or has stalled. The card suggests not drawing conclusions from a single message and talking in person.
As a feeling
Feelings grow fast, with a wish to message and meet more often.
The card as a person
A quick, mobile person who is constantly on the move: calls, trips, messages. They switch easily, answer fast and don’t like to wait.
As the card of the day
A day of short decisions and quick replies. Check your email and messaging apps: important news may arrive. A good day for trips and for matters that have long been waiting for a push.
Yes or no
Yes, and quickly. News or decisions may come soon.
